VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser)
Description: A VCSEL is a microlaser diode that emits light in a cylindrical beam perpendicular to the surface of the chip. VCSEL's have a narrower spectral width than Infrared LED's making them a cost-effective light source for use with 850nm multi-mode fiber because more light fills the fiber core.
